Item Description

The Leadville area has produced some of the most impressive golden Barite specimens from Colorado, and when they're good, they're amazing. This area is long closed and hasn't produced specimens for nearly 20 years, and these pieces are highly prized by Colorado collectors. They simply aren't seen on the market today, like most great U.S. classics. This specimen hosts a few small, sharp, lustrous, tabular rich golden color Barite crystals on slightly frosted grey Quartz matrix. The color of the Barites on this specimen is great even considering the smaller size (about 2 mm). A great Colorado classic from approximately 30 years ago. From the Rich Kosnar Colorado suite, and Rich's hand-painted locality information can be seen on the reverse side of the specimen.
