Item Description

Glassy, transparent to translucent, barite prisms are nicely scattered on the two intergrown, highly sculptural malachite botryroids. Intensely sparkly areas of secondary primary malachite microcrystals really add character to this showy combination piece. The striking parallel-growth prisms on the crest are partly included with malachite and the one cleaved tip is only a modest detraction. The piece is probably from the nearby Shangulowe Mine, not the Shinkolobwe Mine, where such combos are very rare. Excellent two-sided combination material from the Scott Williams and Bob Trimingham Collections. old material, and unique. valued $500
