Item Description

A classic association specimen from this fairly obscure Copper mine in the Congo featuring sharp, lustrous, slightly silvery colored bladed crystals of Barite sitting on minty green Malachite on matrix. Most of the Barites are pristine, the crystals near the edge are contacted due to the nature of how the piece was removed from the pocket. The best Barite crystals from any locality in the Congo are found at the Shangulowe Mine, and even though there were many of them on the market years ago, they all seemed to have disappeared. The largest Barite crystal on this specimen measures 2.3 cm.
