Item Description

Despite the fact that there are only a handful of minerals found at the Elmwood mine, some of them are among the most recognizable minerals in the world. This piece hosts a 4.3 cm cream-colored spherical aggregate of Barite which is associated with classic purple, gemmy cubes of Fluorite measuring up to 1.2 cm on edge which are associated with lustrous reddish-brown Sphalerite on Quartz matrix. A classic example of an Elmwood association specimen. Good quality for the material, save a bit of damage to the Fluorites. This piece is close to 30 years old, and is a worthwhile display piece especially coming from this prominent and celebrated zinc ore body!
