Item Description

A beautiful association specimen from the Cacilia (Caecilia) Mine in Bavaria featuring semi-"rosette"-esque groups of pink bladed Barite measuring up to 3.1 cm across sitting atop a partially stalactitic group of sharp, gemmy cubic Fluorite. When backlit, the Fluorite shows a soft yellowish-green hue, with some reddish highlights from iron oxide. The Barite crystals are in decent shape, but there is a bit of roughness here and there. This piece is certainly unlike most we've seen from this locality as the style and shape of the Fluorite is rare for the Cacilia Mine. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3628). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
