Item Description

A very aesthetic specimen of classic, transparent to translucent, greenish-blue, barite prisms with chisel terminations from the famous Sterling Mine of Colorado. The variably sized prisms make this a very fine piece. Barite has been known from this classic Colorado locale since the 1870s and this specimen dates to the 1970s collecting efforts. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a broken sidecar crystal on the left side. Fine older material from this locality. Ex Harold Urish Collection # 89 and acquired in 1975.
