Item Description

A showy and excellent specimen of a classic, transparent to translucent, greenish-blue, barite prism with a chisel termination from the famous Sterling Mine of Colorado. The bit of calcite on one face is a nice accent. Barite has been known from this classic Colorado locale since the 1870s and this specimen dates to the 1970-80s collecting efforts. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a broken tip to the sidecar crystal. Fine older material from this locality.
