Item Description

Very glassy, transparent to translucent, blue-green, doubly terminated, parallel-growth barite crystals attached to a bit of matrix form an impressive old-timer from England. The preferential iron oxide coating on the front adds much character and the transparent terminations on the back have nifty iron oxide phantoms. The frontal display view is in great shape, with a couple of gently bruised chisel terminations. The broken crystals on the back are mostly out-of-sight. This a fine old classic from the Bob Trimingham Collection and formerly in the Ralph Dietz Collection. This English classic could be from Cumbria.
