Yellow barite is very uncommon from the historic mines at Baia Sprie and this is an outstanding old-timer. Glassy, gemmy blades, to 3.0 cm, with nifty color-zoning, are aesthetically intergrown on this sculptural jackstraw small cabinet. An exceptional 360-degree piece, that is essentially pristine. This old-timer has a fine provenance. Initially in the collection of Hans Kiefer of Admont, Steiermar, then in the collection of Anton Berger, a prominent Austrian dealer whose label dates from about 1929 to the 1950s.
