Item Description

A very aesthetic, two-sided specimen of classic, transparent to translucent, greenish-blue, barite prisms with chisel terminations from the famous Sterling Mine of Colorado. The variably sized prisms make this a very fine piece. Barite has been known from this classic Colorado locale since the 1870s and this specimen probably dates from the 1970s to mid-1980s collecting efforts. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, with only very trivial edge wear to one of the smaller crystals. Outstanding two-sided material from this locality. Ex Jamie Bird Collection.
