Item Description

A pristine, 6.0 x 5.3 cm bladed barite ball on a large mounded matrix of splendent, partially transparent, rubyjack sphalerite crystals forms an impressive and aesthetic specimen from the famous Elmwood Mine. A nifty accent are the three, gemmy, purple fluorite cubes to 5 mm on the sphalerite. Scattered modest bruising is noted to the sphalerite field, but is certainly a modest detraction to this showy, highly representative large combination. It is a fine display specimen that has long been in the mineral collection of John Culberson, one of our current Texas Congressmen in the US House of Representatives for the Houston area. He has specialized in Elmwood minerals for several decades. Hefty zinc ore at 2106 grams or 4.6 pounds.
