Item Description
This is a very aesthetic, flower-like version of the old classic barites from this locality! It is a cluster of several tabular, spearpoint shaped, lustrous and translucent, sky blue colored barite crystals, to 4.7 cm in length. They are bundled in parallel growth, perched on a bit of matrix. The edges of the crystals are infused with hematite, thus giving the barites the appearance of light blue along with a reddish-pink rim, from the hematite. Ex Smithsonian and Herb Obodda Collections. Valued $2000
