Item Description
Rarely seen, lustrous, gemmy to translucent, notably blocky, color-zoned honey-cream to golden-yellow crystals of Barite measuring up to 2.2 cm on matrix form a fine plate from this lesser known locality in Montana. The piece is in excellent shape, despite a few contacts. The attractive and distinct color zoning in the form a thin "band" on a solitary exterior face of each crystal makes for an eye-catching appearance. Valued at $750. From the worldwide collection of noted Idaho collector Geary Murdock. Among other accomplishments, Geary was responsible for discovering some of the finest gem grade deep blue Aquamarine crystals in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho - which remain arguably the finest Aquamarines from any North American locality. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/36634006/geary-jack-murdock
