Barite (ex Brian Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

This locality has produced some of the most classic and easily recognizable Barite specimens from anywhere in the United States. The soft grey-blue color combined with the excellent quality of the crystals makes them a Colorado classic for sure. This piece features several prismatic crystals of gemmy, translucent grey-blue Barite aesthetically sitting atop yellow Calcite matrix. Several of the crystals are in good condition, but others are contacted like many of the specimens from this locality. Please note that the piece has been reinforced on the reverse side to stabilize the piece, as they sometimes can crumble apart.
