Item Description

A superb quality, DOUBLY-TERMINATED, lustrous, very gemmy to translucent, classic group of bladed, soft blue-grey color Barite crystals with the well-known inclusion/coating of reddish-brown Hematite sit atop minor gossan matrix. The piece is nearly a "floater" with only the slightest point on contact on the back of the piece. A wonderul display specimen from one of the most classic world localities for Barite hands down. Probably mined during the late 1800's. For the size and quality, pieces like this one are rarely seen on the market and are highly prized by collectors. Valued at $1500 in the inventory.
