Item Description
A beautiful classic, near "floater" group of the hard to find Barite "roses" from the Sand Pit locality at Rockenberg. The piece shows excellent form, with very good sized beige colored "roses". A small contact on the lower corner is the only point of attachment, otherwise it's completely damage free. I'm told that the analysis of this material showed that the "roses" are actually around 50% Quartz / sand particles vs around 40% Barite, which means they really should be referred to as a pseudomorph in my mind. Ex Alfred Stevenson Collection. Valued at $800.
