Item Description

During his years in Poland, collector Dave Stoudt sought out and purchased an array of Polish specimens little seen on the market here in the States. This a highly unusual and showy two-sided specimen. The front is convex crust of bubbly, botryoidal brown barite. The back shows the cavity partially filled with glassy, bright yellow sulfur crystals. Rare combination material from this locale, as botryoidal barite is uncommon. Barite usually occurs as the classic amber spikes or as tabular crystals from this noted locale. Purchased by Dave at the Tarnozbrzeg home of Eugene Kielek in March, 2001.
