Item Description

A classic, thick, sharp, very lustrous, gemmy to translucent, bladed, thick golden color Barite crystal sitting atop cream colored Dolomite with the well-known inclusion/coating of reddish-brown Hematite. The main crystal measures 5.2 cm and is in excellent shape (only very minor blemishes) and the piece display beautifully from a few angles. A wonderul display specimen from one of the most classic world localities for Barite hands down. Probably mined during the late 1800's. The piece comes from the collection of Brian Kosnar. Valued at $2,000.
