A beautiful, sharply terminated barite from a classic Norway locale. The glassy, partially gemmy, translucent to transparent crystal has rich golden-yellow to honey-brown color and a textbook chisel termination. The interior color variations and clarity also show a distinct and nifty phantom. Complete all-around. Trivial edge wear and modest termination wear are noted, but in the overall context of this excellent piece, these have to be considered minor. It looks like a classic English barite crystal, but its not! Ex Al Ordway Collection # 2846. Hefty at 148 grams.
