Golden barites from Pohla set the world standard and this is a fine and rich large specimen. Gorgeous, gemmy, golden-amber crystals to 4.3 cm are richly and attractively scattered on the quartz matrix. Very nearly pristine, with only trivial edge and periphery wear, which is certainly a modest detraction in the context of this excellent piece. A classic beauty from this historic locale in the Erzgebirge. The piece displays very well horizontally, without aid. Older material from a museum collection.
