Item Description

A striking and rare combination from this well-known quarry. Barite and calcite specimens are well-known from here, but barite coating doubly terminated amber calcite crystals are rare. Barite richly covers the calcite and dolostone matrix and covers nearly all of the four calcite scalenohedrons. The impressive large DT calcite is 4.5 cm long. Excellent and rare material from the Bob Trimingham Collection. Traded from Eileen Luce of Dearborn, Michigan in 1986, who collected the piece.
