Item Description

Fine barite specimens are very uncommon from the Casapalca Mine. This impressive large rosette has lustrous and translucent, color-zoned barite blades to 4.4 cm preferentially and richly coated with tiny, sharp, untwinned, moderately lustrous, metallic-gray, sphalerite crystals. The very few broken and bruised blades have negligible impact on this dramatic piece. Fine and uncommon large combination material from the R. Wallace Knapp and Charelle and James Webb Collections. 1057 grams or 2.3 pounds.
