Item Description

Sculptural and attractive, this specimen is composed of gemmy, water-clear Barite blades that are oriented in two different directions. The Barite is very lustrous with only a hint of white color. It is gorgeous, and very unlike most other barites you see. The second generation of Barites are coated with at least a hundred blue-grey, (fluorescent) Fluorite cubes (up to .3 cm) and Pyrite. A very aesthetic combination piece surely from old mining in this historic silver district. Label glued on the bottom indicates this was formerly in the Ernie Schlichter collection. A superb old classic, valued $400-500
