Item Description

A classic example of the famous old Caecilia Mine material featuring a coverage of tan colored Dolomite rhombs and white bladed Barite sitting atop a matrix of cubic crystals of sharp, lustrous, gemmy Fluorite which range in color from a soft green at the base to an almost "smoky" hue near the top with minor dark reddish highlights of what I assume to be some kind of iron oxide. No real damage, save the outer edge of the piece where it was removed from the pocket wall. Caecilia Mine specimens are very-well known to European collectors, but are virtually non-existent on the market today. Priced at $400 in the inventory. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#407). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
