Item Description
These fantastic Barite specimens were erroneously attributed to a locality called "Sidi Lahcen", but the correct locality is Jebel Ouichane, which was actually known to French mineral dealer Francois Lietard back in the 1970s and then was "re-discovered" by Tomasz from Spirifer Minerals who was able to bring back some amazing specimens. The combination of the color, luster, gemminess and overall quality makes these some of the most attractive Barites in the world. They are not only fine quality crystals, but they have formed in beautiful layered and "spray"-like groups on matrix. This lovely small cabinet is a good quality specimen of this now well known material featuring layered / parallel-growth-like groups of silvery-blue colored, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, Barites crystals with Calcite on matrix. The largest Barite group measures 1.2 cm. Very little damage, and the combination of the gorgeous color, high luster and gemminess makes these pieces so desirable.
