Item Description
Barite is fairly widespread in the various Bolivian orebodies, but typically is not found in large display specimens. This toenail specimen is one of the better Bolivian Barite specimens that I have offered in the auctions. Several, thin, bladed, colorless/white "phantom" translucent crystals creating a very three-dimensional specimen. There are some very slight contacts but the piece is one of the very few Barites that I have seen from this area. If you're a collector of Bolivian minerals, this would be a worthwhile specimen to add to your suite, as it is good quality, and there are very few available on the market.
