Item Description
Golden barite from the famous Eagle Mine is a Colorado classic. This is a striking, unusual, large two-sided crust of two generations of barite on a dramatic convoluted crust of tiny, lustrous, brown siderite disks. Classic, gemmy, tabular, golden barite crystals to about 1.1 cm are festooned on the undulating matrix and are unusually nearly covered by a second generation of tiny, sparkly, drusy, barite microcrystals. Old-time, excellent large combination material. Bob Trimingham purchased this at a Central City rock shop in 1961, when a lot of this material was available. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON.
