Barite (1960s California!)

Item Description

Highly lustrous, glassy, translucent, tan barite blades in parallel-growth form a very aesthetic and excellent California barite. The serrated crystal edges are noteworthy. You may not have seen many of these Los Angeles County barites before, because they are from an old find, back in the 1960s. This piece is in excellent condition, for the crystal density and displays great from either side. The edge wear along part of the crest (confined mostly to the back side) is certainly a modest detraction. Choice and classic California.
