Item Description
Barite is fairly widespread in the various Bolivian orebodies, but typically is not found in large display specimens. This large "fist sized" specimen is one of the better Bolivian Barite specimens that I have seen for size and quality. Several, thick, bladed, colorless/white GEM transparent to translucent crystals up to 5.5 cm across on matrix. There are some contacts here and there, and the piece is by no means perfect, but it is a very good sized Barite with some respectable crystals. If you're a collector of Bolivian minerals, this would be an important specimen to add to your suite, as it is a good sized (nearly 4 inches) and there are very few available on the market.
