CLASSIC OLD MATERIAL FROM TSARIST RUSSIA - SELDOM SEEN IN LARGE PIECES TODAY! A showy and excellent old-timer from Imperial Russia. This shapely layered piece is a curved crust of solid botryoidal malachite with just of matrix on the back. The front has been lightly buffed to bring out the green color. The back highlights the elongated shape of the malachite and the dense banding on the malachite. Classic material from the Urals and seldom available in this quality. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection.
