Item Description

The lead, copper, arsenate, bayldonite, is actually quite rare from the famous mines of Cornwall. This is an old-time, classic and showy specimen of green bayldonite crystals richly covering quartz matrix from the less well-known Wheal Carpenter Mine. Wheal Carpenter opened in 1792, with sporadic and limited production continuing until 1855. Very highly representative material for the species and locality. Ex Howard Belsky Collection.
