Item Description
Balangeroite is a rare fibrous asbestos silicate unique in the world to three localities in Torino Province. It was discovered in 1983. This impressive large piece from the Type Locality is composed of very soft brown fibers embedded in a serpentine matrix. The finest examples comes from this abandoned (1990) large open pit asbestos mine and this is an excellent large example. Ex. Bonisoli Collection and collected in 1978.
