Sharp, moderately lustrous, jet-black, babingtonite prisms with glassy quartz points and lustrous, mint-green prehnites form a showy and excellent combination specimen from recent Chinese finds. The larger babingtonites have very interesting hollow or hoppered terminations, which really adds character to this rich specimen. This Chinese locality has recently produced some of the finest babingtonites in the world. This piece would be much more expensive, if from Massachusetts! The Chinese material has redefined what the average quality a collector can own, for this species. This aesthetic piece has many display possibilities.
