Babingtonite (rare East Coast locale)

Item Description

Mineral specimens, in general, are very uncommon from this extinct stone quarry opened in 1913 and babingtonite specimens are rare. This rich and showy plate features VERY LARGE lustrous, jet-black babingtonite crystals, to 7 mm, for the locale. Most specimens have crystals less than 3 mm. An exceptional babingtonite for the locale from an East Coast collection and comes with a Hugh Ford label dating from 1946-57. A MUST for the species or locality collector.
