Babingtonite & Prehnite on Quartz

Sharp, moderately lustrous, jet-black, babingtonite prisms are aesthetically clustered on one corner of the starkly contrasting two-sided crust of quartz crystals. Glassy, lightly frosted, pretty mint-green, bladed prehnite botryoids are richly visible on both sides of this showy, two-sided combination plate. This Chinese locality has recently produced some of the finest babingtonites in the world. This piece would be much more expensive, if from Massachusetts! The Chinese material has redefined what the average quality a collector can own, for this species.
