Babingtonite from the recent Chinese finds has redefined worldwide, what can be expected of the species. This sculptural and artistic combination piece is highlighted by the cluster of sharp and lustrous, tabular babingtonites beautifully set on the tree-like plate richly covered with lustrous, mint-green, "apples" of botryoidal prehnite on the quartz plate. The bit of periphery wear on the upper left is a modest detraction. An excellent and very showy combination specimen with this uncommon silicate. These remarkable specimens come out of a very small, previously insignificant quarry that, according to MINDAT, is simply worked by the local farmers. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $150, for free. Valued at $1000-1500. The previous owner had obtained it at the high end of that range.
