Item Description

A rich and showy large two-sided combination plate from this classic locale. One side is covered with lustrous, translucent, bladed, mint-green, prehnite botryoids and nicely accented with a small vug of sharp, lustrous, jet-black babingtonite crystals. The back side is richly covered with babingtonite crystals to 9 mm and a few calcite rhombs. The matrix is layered babingtonite and prehnite. Westfield babingtonites were the world's finest and highly prized, until the recent Chinese finds. From an East Coast collection. Excellent, highly representative large combination material.
