Sharp, moderately lustrous, jet-black, babingtonite prisms are aesthetically clustered on the edge of the starkly contrasting crust of glassy, pretty mint-green, bladed prehnite botryoids intermixed with a field of quartz crystals. This Chinese locality has recently produced some of the finest babingtonites in the world. An excellent and very showy combination specimen. This piece would be much more expensive, if from Massachusetts! The Chinese material has redefined what the average quality a collector can own, for this species.
