Azurite with Malchite (ex Willard Wulff Collection)

A cool specimen of vivid blue Azurite with minor green "balls" of Malachite on matrix from Morenci. The Azurites have formed semi-"roses" and look beautiful up close. Good color, association and quality for a thumbnail of this beloved material. This piece comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. The piece comes mounted in a "Perky" box from Wulff that states the specimens were personally collected by Wulff himself.
