Item Description
An excellent two-piece deal from this now famous locale. The very sharp, blocky, well-striated rhomb is highly lustrous and is midnight-blue to royal-blue in low-level light. In bright light, it has the very desirable "electric-blue" gemminess. Very nearly pristine, with only trivial edge wear. The smaller thumbnail is a gorgeous combination piece. An extremely sharp, flattened azurite crystal has a razor sharp beveled termination and rests on a malachite crust. This crystal has startling "electric-blue" gemminess in the termination and is partially pseudomorphed to malachite in the lower portion. Essentially pristine, with only the most trivial of edge wear. The latest information from the Tucson Show is that the oxide zone, where these fantastic azurites have come from, is nearly mined out, with only the lower chalcocite and sulfide zones left. Pockets are expected to be few and far between in the future year or so left in its lifetime. Get them while you can! These thumbnails are both superb, and came in large lots we bought. Valued $500 for sharp quality, color, style.
