"Electric-blue" azurites from the famous Concepcion del Oro area of Zacatecas compare with the best in the world from Tsumeb, Touissit, Milpillas or Arizona for gemminess and vivid blue color. They are small, but they are so fine. Stunning, scintillating, gemmy blades, to about 1.0 cm, richly and beautifully fill a vug along with crystals that are partially pseudomorphed to malachite on the sculptural, sturdy small cabinet gossan matrix. This old-timer is EXTREMELY RARE from the district, as is comes from the obscure extinct old Santa Elegio Mine at Aranzazu. We feel very lucky to have picked up the large collection of Bill and Anne Cook of Cleveland, recently.
