Item Description

Azurite specimens of this large size and quality are very rare from Hungary. Both sides of this sculptural CABINET specimen are covered with lustrous rosettes of pretty royal-blue azurite blades nicely complimented with malachite. Much of the azurite has the desirable "electric-blue" gemminess under strong light. This very fine and probably old-time piece could easily be mistaken as Bisbee material: A significant and important large azurite from Hungary, and the Robert Whitmore Collection. Valued at $1000.
