Item Description
Sparkling, bright, midnight-blue, azurite crystals are remarkably accented with a fine spray of chatoyant, fibrous malachite on this striking combination specimen from this world famous copper mining district, closed by the end of the 19th century. These stout prisms have gorgeous, "electric-blue" gemminess under bright light and are very Tsumeb-like, which is very atypical for Chessy azurite. A few crystals are partially pseudoed to malachite. A bit of periphery wear is noted, but has very minimal impact on this exceptional specimen. MUCH BETTER and more intensely lustrous, in person! This is a truly oustanding Chessy piece in any size, for the quality. Ex John Ydren Collection. Fairly valued at $1500.
