Classic and showy old-time large parallel-growth azurite with malachite from famed Tsumeb. The impressive and striking front of the stout midnight-blue with royal-blue highlights is highly lustrous and dramatically striated. This crystal has a contacted termination, while tabular azurite behind it is sharply terminated. Complete all-around. The back is contacted, but has very little damage. The upper edges are all there, while the lower areas are contacted. Ex Ron Romanella Collection (1932-2022), a very well-known New York City gem and mineral dealer. He mentored successful East Coast mineral dealers Herb Obodda, Larry Conklin and even employed Dave Wilber for a time. An impressive, significant, large older azurite from the renowned locale from the 1960s.
