Item Description

Noted for its attractive spreads of sparkling small crystals more than for well-developed, high-quality Azurite crystals, the Guichi District in Anhui produced this very fine small cabinet piece. The majority of Chinese Azurites are druses, with relatively few having larger crystals like this one. There are several dozen well-formed, rather thickly bladed Azurites that average 1 cm in size on a little Malachite, very reminiscent of Milpillas Azurites. All of the Azurites have superb luster and great color. Great aesthetics, good composition, and the royal blue with bright green make for an outstanding Azurite piece from China. If this were from China or Milpillas, it would be valued the same to most of us, perhaps $1000-ish. But, this quality from china is actually a bit more rare, and fewer good crystals came out than from Mexican finds.
