An attractive specimen of Azurite with Malachite from the famous Milpillas Mine. This piece features fine quality, sharp, rather lustrous, deep blue, bladed crystals of Azurite measuring up to 3.8 associated with minor mint green Malachite sitting on contrasting white Dickite matrix. The piece is in good condition overall, with minor roughness around the outside edges where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. My favorite aspect of the piece is that some of the very thin bladed Azurite crystals are INCREDIBLY GEMMY when backlit, showing an intoxicating electric indigo hue. Milpillas is finished in terms of the oxidized zone, so there will be no more Azurite specimens according to our sources.
