Item Description
Several beautiful, rich royal blue color crystals and "rosettes" of Azurite are associated with beautiful velvety green botryoidal Malachite which sit upon gossan matrix on this specimen from the classic locality at Morenci. The largest Azurite crystal is 1.1 cm. This area has produced some of the most attractive Azurite and Malachite combinations from any locality in the world. Obviously, Bisbee is the premier Arizona locality for Azurite and Malachite association speciens, but Morenci produced some really eye-catching specimens over the years. This attractive display specimen is in great shape overall, and it's not common to find nice cabinet sized pieces on the market these days from Morenci. Lustrous crystals and "rosettes" of Azurite on matrix from Morenci are not terribly common, and certainly are worth picking up in this market. From the collection of John Arnaud of Colorado.
