Azurite with Malachite (classic locality)

A striking old full cabinet sized Bisbee Azurite specimen featuring a rich coating of sparkling (almost chatoyant), deep blue botryoidal aggregates, which are associated with minor mint green Malachite are almost completely coating both sides of a thin layer of oxidized matrix. The Azurites look great up close, and we've photographed them with a macro lens to get a better idea of the quality. The piece comes from the collection of Tom Kennedy with a price tag of $20(!) from almost 30 years ago (September 1995), as detailed on the back of the business card James P. Below (Blue Chip Minerals). Much more valuable in today's market and certainly worth picking up if you're a fan of Azurites or minerals from Bisbee.
