Item Description

A very attractive display specimen of Azurite on Malachite from the prolific Liufengshan mine. It features sharp, lustrous, sparkling crystallized "rosettes" of blue Azurite which are associated with soft minty green Malachite below. If you look at the close up photos, you can see a selective deposition of green malachite on the pyramidal faces of the Azurite crystals, creating a gorgeous two-tone effect. The color contrast is just beautiful and truly resembles classic material from Arizona. These specimens are certainly among the most celebrated contemporary Azurite specimens out there, and are certainly contemporary classics for the quality and size. Only a few spots keep the piece from being 100% perfect, but it's still darned impressive and a good example for the quality. We've seen this material rise in value over the last 10 years or so, especially as fewer pieces seem to be coming out.
