Item Description

A lovely historic Azurite specimen from one of the most classic localities in all of Europe and the TYPE LOCALITY for Auzrite)! Typically the Azurite specimens from Chessy are found in less than desirable crystals, but this piece is an actual GROUP of sharp, very well defined, LUSTROUS, midnight blue, bladed Azurite crystals with very minor Malachite. The crystal faces have good luster, and are good quality considering for the age of the specimen. It is very difficult for collectors to obtain fine quality specimens of this material today, and the fact that this piece hosts multiple crystals makes even more desirable. This specimen was mined in the early 1800s, so it's nearly 200 years old! A great specimen for any collector, a collector of European classics, or anyone who appreciates Azurite. The piece comes with labels from Harvey Gordon and Kristalle.
